Terms and Conditions

These are the terms on which Ability Resource, a Hawaii nonprofit corporation, offers this website, its telephone line and its text message service.

Using this website

This website gives information about Ability Resource and its services. It is offered as it is. We take care over what we publish, but we do not promise that every page is complete or current; call or email us to confirm anything you rely on.

Text message terms

Program. Ability Resource account notifications. We send text messages from (808) 867-2008 to people who have signed up: people who receive services from us, our employees, and the organizations we contract with. Messages are about the recipient's own account or services, such as appointment confirmations and schedule changes, reminders about forms or paperwork, payment and invoice notices, and replies to questions the recipient has sent us. We do not send marketing or promotional messages.

Signing up. You sign up by entering your mobile number on our text messages page and checking the box to agree. We then send one text to confirm. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving any service from Ability Resource.

Frequency. Message frequency varies, usually 1 to 4 messages a month.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for the details of your plan.

Stopping. Reply STOP to any message to cancel. We send one text to confirm, and no further messages after that. Reply START to sign up again.

Help. Reply HELP to any message, call (808) 867-2008, or email [email protected].

Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy. How we handle your number is set out in our privacy policy. We do not sell or share your mobile number or consent with third parties for marketing.

Calling us

If no one can answer when you call (808) 867-2008, you can leave a voicemail. By leaving a voicemail you agree to its being recorded, transcribed by machine, and read and listened to by our staff so we can respond.
